Background
Fosters have been the major player in Australian & global liquor for many years. They own, market and distribute an international portfolio of beer, wine, spirits, cider and non-alcohol brands. Foster’s vision is “to be a great drinks company - first choice for consumers, customers, investors and our people.”
Challenge
In 2005, Fosters acquired various smaller companies as well as the wine giant Southcorp. These acquisitions provided Fosters with a unique opportunity to create a pre-eminent global wine company, with an unrivalled collection of premium wine brands furthering their global wine leadership strategy.
However, this also meant that Foster’s was faced with five disparate asset management systems that did not talk to each other. Each company had their own separate images and files which were spread across five libraries with little or no synergy.

Solution
Dimension Solutions proposed consolidating all of the Foster’s Images into one global library. Through a working relationship with dLibrary, an online image library used to source product shots and images for advertising campaigns, PMP were able to identify the opportunity and propose a solution.
Once the solution was approved by Foster’s, planning meetings were conducted to ‘architecturally’ design the structure of the online library so as to best serve the Fosters structure globally. The result is a centralised online asset library containing all of Foster’s marketing images for their world-wide markets. It contains more than 10,000 images and has more than 5,000 registered users.
Result
Foster’s Group now has a global, centralised image library which stores all image assets used for various marketing purposes. This has enabled all Fosters employees and external partners to access and download Fosters image assets via the online web portal at any time, wherever they are around the world.
Through this global image library, Fosters can ensure their branding and product quality is consistent and that all images being downloaded by clients and employees are the most up-to-date versions. In addition, the ability to download their images online allows speed to market and improved cost management.
Fosters and Dimension Solutions have built a strong working relationship through monthly meetings and ongoing updates of the image library to meet the changing needs of Foster’s group.
